1/10 Little 500 at Indiana
Little 500 at Indiana University in April every year dates back to 1951 and is modeled after the Indianapolis 500 race. Since it's inception, the event has evolved from a single bike race to a weeklong party in which college kids across the state descend on Bloomington. Despite the party atmosphere infecting the student population, competitors in the race have continued to train year-round in order to battle it out on the track once a year. The event even has a major movie about it from 1980, "Breaking Away".
